Title: The Silk Route
Medium : Textured Acrylic on Deep Edge Canvas with High Gloss Varnish for Protection
Dimensions : 100x80cm
Description: The Silk Route was inspired by the ancient pathways where travellers moved across vast landscapes carrying silks, pigments, gems, and stories. As I shaped these woven, textured peaks, I kept thinking about how their journeys mirror our own, how we each navigate life, collecting experiences, learning lessons, and slowly becoming the best version of ourselves. Every colour here feels like a fragment gathered along the way: a memory, a moment of growth, a quiet awakening.
This is only my second large painting in two years (since my son was born), and it completely consumed me. I poured more than 40 hours into it over just three days, my hands and back are definitely protesting, but the joy of seeing it finished is an incredible balm. I’m truly in love with this piece.
For me, The Silk Route belongs to my Nirvana theme — a reflection on transcendence, self-realisation, and the wisdom we uncover through the landscapes we travel within and beyond.
