Description: Poppy Wave is an abstracted landscape inspired by fields of poppies in bloom, where colour and texture move in quiet, rhythmic waves. Sculpted palette-knife strokes build the surface in layers of crimson, vermilion, and burnt orange, creating a sense of depth, movement, and vitality.
The field unfolds with an organic irregularity, rising, dipping and shifting, echoing the natural unevenness of lived experience. Above it, a soft expanse of sky in layered blues offers contrast and release, bringing balance to the intensity below.
Part of the Rebirth series, this work reflects renewal emerging from within. Like poppies that grow through disturbed ground, it speaks to resilience, transformation, and the quiet strength of beginning again.
Presented unframed, allowing the raw, tactile surface and edges to remain visible as an integral part of the work.
